How are public, university and college libraries managing the often-complex, confusing and challenging task of building and maintaining a collection of e-books and other electronic resources?
And what can Canadian publishers do to assist librarians in acquiring and managing these resources?
Enter a recent study by eBound Canada, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the digital efforts of independent Canadian publishers.
The study, A Report to the Canadian Publishing Community on Trends, and Issues in Canada’s Public, University, and College Libraries, provides snapshots of e-book acquisition and lending practices in public, university and college libraries as well as suggestions on how to address challenges in all three sectors.
The aim of the report is to get publishers and librarians working together so that those who produce digital content can easily and conveniently get it into the hands of those who want it.
