Congratulations to Rosemary Sullivan!

Access Copyright affiliate Rosemary Sullivan has won this year`s Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction.

The Prize was given out to Sullivan for Stalin’s Daughter: The Extraordinary and Tumultuous Life of Svetlana Alliluyeva (HarperCollins Canada) at a gala event on Tuesday, October 6 at the Art Gallery of Canada.

The book examines the life of the only daughter of Russian dictator Joseph Stalin, and is, as detailed in the jury citation accompanying Sullivan’s prize, “an intimate biography of a woman doomed to be a political prisoner of her father’s name.”

In addition to the recognition, Sullivan received $60,000 while the four finalists for this year’s Prize: Elliott Behar, Douglas Coupland, Dean Jobb and Lynette Loeppky, each earned $5,000. All five nominated books are available for download via iTunes.
