Call for Applications: Digital Originals microgrants from Canada Council for the Arts
Thursday, May 21, 2020
Access Copyright is pleased to share details on a new initiative from the Canada Council for the Arts and CBC/Radio-Canada.
The Digital Originals program provides grants of $5,000 to writers, artists and artistic organizations wishing to create a new work or adapt a work to share digitally with Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
An example of an activity that could be eligible for a grant would be authors who create a video of themselves reading aloud one of their works and posting the recording online.
Applications for grants are being accepted until June 15 or when all funding under the program has been awarded.
If you see an opportunity to share one of your works digitally or to create a new one to share online, we encourage you to visit the Canada Council website for more details on their Digital Originals initiative and to access their application portal to apply for a grant. If you are a publisher, please send these details on to your authors.
If you have any questions about the Digital Originals program, please email the Canada Council directly at digitaloriginals@canadacouncil.ca.
