Massive Open Online Courses – or MOOCs, for short – have been around for 16 years but only became part of the public consciousness in the past couple years.
Some have even predicted that MOOCs, with their promise of free online learning outside traditional institutions, could potentially revolutionize post-secondary education.
Recently, the Ontario Online Learning Portal for Faculty & Instructors, an online resource to assist educators in incorporating technology into their teaching, took a look at MOOCs to see what impact they have had on post-secondary education.
