Affiliates Guy Gavriel Kay and Alan Twigg Named to the Order of Canada
Thursday, July 10, 2014
Just before Canada Day, Governor General David Johnston announced 86 appointments to the Order of Canada.
Several of the appointments had a strong connection to Canada’s literary community, including Access Copyright affiliates Guy Gavriel Kay and Alan Twigg as well as Jim Munro, founder—along with Alice Munro—of Munro’s Books in Victoria and Carol Martin, among the creators of the Association of Canadian Publishers. All four were named Members of the Order of Canada.
Other notable Canadians honoured are astronaut Chris Hatfield and satirist Rick Mercer.
