“I am inspired by the ingenuity and creativity that the organizations receiving Events Grants from the Foundation have shown in reimagining their events for virtual audiences that, in many cases, will reach more Canadians and others around the world than ever before,” said Margaret Reynolds, co-chair of Access Copyright Foundation. “I am certain that this drive to increase the audience for our literary works will continue in future years.”

The Foundation’s Events Grant program promotes the development and public appreciation of Canadian publishing, literary and visual arts. Events Grants provide funding to organizations and artists groups in order to showcase publishable works to the public or to host professional development events for writers, visual artists, publishers and related arts professionals either in-person or virtually.

The 2020 Events Grant recipients were selected by a jury composed of Jillian Bell, executive director of SaskBooks, Chelene Knight, an award-winning author and Meredith Tutching, director of the Forest of Reading. Grants are administered on behalf of the Foundation by SK Arts (formerly the Saskatchewan Arts Board).
