Access Copyright encourages everyone to Read Canadian on February 17

Thursday, February 11, 2021

February 17 is I Read Canadian Day, a day to celebrate the richness, diversity and breadth of Canadian literature—in particular, our stories that are geared toward young people.

This year’s theme is Now More Than Ever, emphasizing how reading and the variety of our country’s stories and voices connect us all at a time when we need to stay apart.

On February 17, everyone is encouraged to take 15 minutes to read and share a great Canadian book with their family, their little ones or even just with yourself. Help join the festivities on February 17 by sharing what you are reading on social media using the hashtags #IReadCanadian and #NowMoreThanEver.

At 12 noon ET on February 17, the I Write Canadian video series will premiere on the Canadian Children’s Book Centre YouTube channel, Bibliovideo. Featured will be a cross-section of authors and illustrators whose creations delight young people across the country.

Access Copyright is proud to be among the sponsors of this year’s I Read Canadian Day.

We hope you’ll be part of the fun and take 15 minutes on February 17 to Read Canadian!
