Unveiling Access Copyright's new strategic plan
Tuesday, February 4, 2025
Following an organizational restructuring at the end of 2023, Access Copyright Board and staff have made important strides over the past year in stabilizing revenues and reducing expenses, strengthening operations and staying focused on our core business of licensing copyrighted works and distributing royalties to rightsholders. Alongside this work was the development of a new strategic plan for the organization.
For this effort, we engaged with Communications MDR, a strategic consulting firm with extensive experience working with the cultural industries. The process of developing the plan involved a literature review, interviews with our Board and staff, a survey of our affiliates and customers, and roundtable discussions with our members. Thank you to everyone who participated in this process and shared your perspective.
In September 2024, Access Copyright’s Board with select staff took part in a one-day facilitated session to begin the process of developing a plan for 2025-2028. The plan was approved by the Board in December with staff already hard at work to begin the process of implementation.
The plan outlines the four complementary strategic goals we will be working towards for the next three years; all are critical for Access Copyright as we work to build a sustainable future for the organization.
We are pleased to make the plan available to you here and encourage you to review it at your leisure. We look forward to reporting back to the Access Copyright community on our progress as the plan is operationalized.
