Maximize the Value of Your Catalogue

Publisher HubPortal Login

As a publisher, your published work is valuable. At Access Copyright, we help to generate ongoing revenue for the use of your catalogue.

By signing up with us, businesses and other organizations licensed with us are able to legally copy and share excerpts from your published catalogue, ensuring you receive fair royalties for these uses. We handle licensing, administration, and royalty distribution so you can focus on continuing to publish great content.

Why Publishers Partner with Us

Access Copyright offers publishers a trusted, efficient way to derive value from the secondary use of their content.

We help publishers:

  • Simplify rights management — Our collective licences cover multiple users and uses, reducing administrative burden, and expanding your reach.

  • Ensure fair, transparent royalties — Licence fees are collected, and royalties are calculated and distributed to you based on a combination of usage data and statistical models in keeping with international best practices.
  • Support made easy — We manage royalties, reporting, and rights administration, so you don’t need to administer permission requests, chase payments, or manage contracts.
  • Advocacy — We make sure publishers’ interests are represented to policy and decision makers, helping shape key copyright infrastructure in Canada.
  • Transparency & accountability — Clear reporting and trusted governance ensure fairness.

How It Works

Sign Up With Us

Signing up with Access Copyright is free though we do retain a percentage of royalty fees collected to cover administrative costs.

  • Sign Up: Apply as a publisher and provide details of your publications. Once approved, your catalogue becomes part of our repertoire while you retain ownership of it.
  • Licences Issued to Users: Businesses and other organizations can copy and share published works in our extensive repertoire through our collective licensing framework under standard terms.
  • Licence Fees Collected & Distributed as Royalties: Access Copyright collects licensing fees from our customers and distributes them as royalties to publishers (and affiliated creators where applicable).
  • Eligibility to Receive the Annual Publisher Repertoire Payment: Each year, publishers are eligible to receive a share of the Publisher Repertoire Payment based on revenue totals reported to us.
  • Ongoing Catalogue Management: We maintain your repertoire, manage reporting and payments, and provide support, so you can focus on publishing, not licensing administration.
