Governance

Access Copyright is governed by a Board of Directors that provides oversight, strategic direction, and accountability.

Board of Directors

Access Copyright’s Board of Directors is composed of:

  • Ten elected directors
  • The organization’s Chief Executive Officer, subject to annual Board approval.

Board directors bring a wide range of perspectives and experience, representing the worlds of writing, visual arts, publishing, technology, academia, business, and education. This diversity helps ensure decisions reflect the interests of the communities Access Copyright serves.

Board Recruitment and Nominations

When vacancies arise, an elected Nominating Committee is responsible for recruiting qualified candidates who agree to stand for election at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The Nominating Committee includes:

  • Two creator and publisher representatives

  • Two current members of the Board
  • Access Copyright’s CEO, serving in a non-voting capacity

This process supports fair representation and transparent governance.
