Access Copyright was created by a group of Canadian publishers and creators in 1988. Since then we have grown and now represent the reproductive rights and interests of thousands of Canadian publishers and creators - and copyright owners around the world.

Under Canadian copyright law, copyright owners generally have the right to decide when and how their works are reproduced, whether they're being copied using a photocopier, digitally or by other means. In the past it, was difficult for copyright owners to know when their works were being copied and to protect their rights when copying was done illegally, but collective licensing has changed that. Under Access Copyright's licensing system, users of copyright protected material can conveniently and easily obtain legal permission to copy, and copyright owners can be compensated for that copying.

• There is no fee to affiliate
• As an affiliate you are eligible to receive a repertoire payment and you will receive royalties whenever your works are copied and reported to us under an Access Copyright licence.
• Access Copyright will ensure your voice is heard on important issues that affect your organization, such as copyright reform legislation. Our affiliates are kept in the loop about copyright issues through Access Copyright's various newsletters, e-blasts, publications and educational sessions.
