Resources for Copyshop Subcontractors

Certain post-secondary educational institutions that have entered into licence agreements with Access Copyright have instructed the organization to authorize third parties, such as copyshops, to perform certain acts set out in its agreement on behalf of the institution.

Copyshops with an Authorized Copyshop Licence are authorized to provide students and staff members of certain post-secondary institutions with photocopying services, including paper coursepack production.

Under the Authorized Copyshop Licence, no copyright royalty fee may be charged by the copyshop to students and staff members of the identified post-secondary institutions. These post-secondary institutions have already paid a copyright royalty fee directly to Access Copyright, which covers all photocopying and paper coursepack production done on behalf of the students and staff members within the limits of the Authorized Copyshop Licence.

Copyshops still need to report all paper coursepack production to Access Copyright using the Authorized Copyshop Licence Logging Tool.
