Becoming a Copyshop Licensee
Copyshops and commercial printing firms that reproduce excerpts from published works without authorization and/or sell those copies to customers may violate the Copyright Act. You can make sure that your operation complies with copyright legislation by entering into an Access Copyright licensing agreement.
There are two components to our copyshop licence:
- Day-to-day Photocopying This includes photocopies made for customers within the licenced limits. You are not required to keep records with respect to the material that is copied under the day-to-day photocopying provisions of the licence.
- Coursepack Photocopying This covers photocopying that is done for sale or distribution to students and other individuals, such as coursepacks to supplement educational material for a post secondary course. All copying done for inclusion in coursepacks must be reported to Access Copyright using our eLog.
