Claim Deadline for Robertson Settlement Extended to March 30, 2010
The deadline to make a claim for compensation under the Heather Robertson settlement has been extended to Tuesday, March 30, 2010. The settlement is the resolution to a class-action lawsuit launched on behalf of freelancers and other contributors by Heather Robertson.
The class action covers works that appeared in certain electronic databases. If any of your works are part of this settlement, you can make a claim for compensation.

On August 12, 2009, the Ontario Superior Court approved the settlement of a class action lawsuit launched by Heather Robertson on behalf of freelancers and other contributors. The class action alleged that creators were not properly compensated for the electronic reproduction of their works in certain electronic databases. CTVglobemedia Inc., Thomson Reuters Canada Ltd. and The Gale Group Inc. have agreed to pay $11 million to settle the lawsuit. The publishers have made no admission of wrongdoing.
