Beneficiaries and/or Estates of Copyright Owners
Literary estates (heirs and beneficiaries) of copyright owners are eligible to receive royalties.
If the deceased was an Access Copyright affiliate, you must complete a Warranty Regarding Entitlement Form stating your entitlement to the royalties. To obtain a copy of this form, please contact Affiliate Services by calling 416-868-1620 (toll-free 1-800-893-5777) or at affiliates@accesscopyright.ca.
If the deceased was not an Access Copyright affiliate, you may apply to affiliate the estate if the deceased would have met our eligibility requirements, and if his or her works have not yet passed into the public domain. In addition to the usual affiliation application documents, you will also have to complete a Warranty Regarding Entitlement Form stating your entitlement to the royalties. If there is a dispute regarding royalty entitlement, no royalties will be distributed until the dispute is settled.
